Cisco Programmable Network

Introduction

The Cisco Programmable Network “resides” between the network and OSS applications and provides distributed FCAPS coverage across a domain of devices and provides an abstraction layer for northbound applications. The programmable network is a set of Cisco management engines (server or appliance-based applications) that either stands alone or is integrated within northbound OSS components. The programmable network is vital for both northbound management applications and southbound device communication.
